Following the great success of the first INNOspace Weekend, we are pleased to show the highlights through a new video about the startup event and a summary report. The high-energy and dynamic event provided an international mix of participants with the tools they needed to initiate their own startup idea.

The first INNOspace Weekend was a great success. 65 participants attended from over 17 countries and a mix of backgrounds. For many, this cultural and interdisciplinary diversity contributed to the success of the event and to the development of many innovative and groundbreaking business ideas.

The first INNOspace Weekend will be held this year and will be take place from 15-17 September 2017 in Cologne. Organised by Design & Data GmbH on behalf of DLR, the aim is to unite non-space sectors to the space sector and generate new upstream or downstream space startups.

How time flies by! It’s been a busy six years at Design & Data, full of exciting projects. We prepared a showreel, which highlights some of our more interesting work – from drone shots, interviews and livestream events, to animations and 3D motion graphics.

In a new and ambitious project, we are excited to have launched ‘Bake In Space’, which seeks to address the scientific and technical challenges relating to the production of fresh bread in space. Design & Data has formed a subsidiary company under the same name.

The DLR (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt) is very engaged in the exploration of Mars. The DLR is involved in the ESA mission „Mars Express“ by providing the high resolution 3D camera, HRSC. This camera reveals a lot about the composition of the Red Planet. We produced a DVD for the DLR, in which the experts of the research center review the latest status of Mars research in bilingual interviews. The DVD is called „Mars – A planet full of riddles“.

To befittingly relaunch our newly revamped YouTube channel, we put together a Motion & Design Showreel to highlight some of the best projects of the last year.

World Space Week takes place from 4th-10th of October. Its topics are the exploration of Mars and Earth observations. It will be a fascinating week. We filmed ESA-Astronaut Pedro Duque for a message to the participants of World Space Week.

It’s the ten-year anniversary of the HRSC camera. This camera was the first recording device, which mapped Mars in high resolution images. This very much benefited Mars research. Design & Data had the honour of immortalizing this anniversary with a matching website. For this, we went the extra mile and created an informative and entertaining internet page.

The Red Planet has fascinated humans for eternities. As the planet closest to Earth, a manned space mission is at issue. The German Center for Air and Space Travel (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt, DLR) investigates many Mars-related subjects. After Design & Data has only recently accompanied the field mission “Mars2013”, this time the scientists were interviewed in the matter of the Red Planet. The filming took place in Berlin.
