The story of the satellite “Rosetta” and the lander “Philae” sounds like a fairy tale. Once upon a time, both of them embark on a journey to the far away comet „67P/Tschurjumow-Gerassimenko“. They want to show the world what the primordial matter of the solar system is like. But before they could actually arrive at the comet, they fell into a deep sleep. All is well, because the satellite could wake up on time to prepare for its impending task. Design & Data produced a charming cartoon for the ESA which describes the previous journey of Rosetta and her companion Philae.
How time flies by – Design & Data is in business for exactly three years. On the occasion of our anniversary, we prepared a showreel which presents our most beautiful and most interesting projects. The showreel includes the versatile areas of our work – from shots in the desert to animations and motion design right up to the newly produced ESA cartoon.
A weather map is an everyday tool for most of us. But the science which makes it possible, is anything but everyday. It requires the talented minds of a lot competent scientists – like the ones at the ECWMF. The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECWMF) is the global market leader in numerical weather forecasts. They always look for better ways to forecast the weather. We present such weather experts in our new video.
The alarm goes off every morning – sometimes even for satellites. The ESA (European Space Agency) satellite Rosetta has gone into deep-space hibernation on its way to a comet for over three years. On January the 20th 2014 at 10am GMT, its systems will wake up again – right on time to prepare for its destination and the related comet’s examination. Speaking of waking up – we produced a teaser-video for the social media campaign of ESA, which will arouse even the late riser. #WakeUpRosetta.
World Space Week takes place from 4th-10th of October. Its topics are the exploration of Mars and Earth observations. It will be a fascinating week. We filmed ESA-Astronaut Pedro Duque for a message to the participants of World Space Week.
