As 2018 draws to a close and the festivities begin, our offices will close from 24th December 2018 until 7th January 2019. We take this opportunity to wish our network of customers, suppliers and partners a very happy and smooth entry into the new year 2019. We use this time also to reflect on our activities over the past year, demonstrating the wide range of services we offer across the many projects we have worked on.

German ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst is scheduled to return to Earth tomorrow (20 December) with his crewmates, NASA astronaut Serena Auñón-Chancellor and Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergei Prokopyev. On the morning of Saturday 22 December 2018, media are invited to attend a press conference at ESA’s European Astronaut Centre in Cologne. Design & Data will be providing the livestream for ESA.

In a new video production for LSG Sky Chefs, we illustrate how it is taking its airline catering and in-flight services to a whole new level. Their Global Culinary Excellence team developed “bonus food” for German ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst ahead of his “Horizons” mission.

German ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst recently flew to the International Space Station (ISS) in a Soyuz capsule alongside Roscosmos commander Sergei Prokopyev and NASA astronaut Serena Auñón-Chancellor. Design & Data provided the livestream for ESA.

On 6 June, German ESA Astronaut Alexander Gerst will launch from the Baikonur cosmodrome to begin his ‘Horizons’ mission where he will become the first German commander of the International Space Station (ISS). Design & Data supported ESA’s livestream of his last news conference in Europe before his second launch into space.
