During April 2018, Copernicus and its services implemented by ECMWF were hosted at a high-level event at the European Parliament in Brussels. Design & Data worked with Copernicus ECMWF in the organisation of the event and to develop a number of media-related materials to communicate the impact and benefits for service users and European citizens.

The aim of the event was to raise awareness and support for the Copernicus programme among MEPs, the two Copernicus services implemented by ECMWF – the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) and the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS), and the European State of the Climate Report. Design & Data worked closely with Copernicus ECMWF to plan the event, including briefing notes for speakers, videos on the service user cases, and the complete graphics and editorial works for the event.

We created a number of print products for the event, including invitation cards, rollups, a stage banner, an agenda and handouts. In addition, we planned a number of social media activities, creating a number of tweets and graphics leading up to the event, and livetweeted during the event itself where we had a Twitter wall with the highlighted posts. Impressions of the event can be seen at #CopernicusESC.

Finally, Design & Data carried out the complete photography and filming of the event, capturing the main speakers before and during the discussions, and capturing interviews with the invited guests to capture their feedback.

A video and summary report of the event will be released shortly. Meanwhile here are some highlighted photos from the event.
