Visualising how climate data supports smarter health decisions in a changing world.
Challenge
Communicating the Copernicus Health Hub to a general audience required translating a complex and data-heavy topic into a clear and engaging format. The goal was not only to explain how factors such as air pollution contribute to issues like premature death, but also to guide viewers toward the platform and encourage further exploration. This meant creating a strong visual identity with a clear call-to-action, while framing the content around relatable questions from the audience’s perspective.
Idea, solution
To address this, a distinctive visual style was developed to capture attention and maintain engagement. A flat diorama-style scene serves as the entry point, presenting real-life scenarios in a simplified and visually striking way. It acts as a central stage where key questions are introduced and gradually unfold through a pop-up-like animation.
The approach combines a clear, mostly static composition with unfolding elements that keep the viewer engaged. Complex information is broken down through a mix of playful design and structured data visualisation, including graphs, imagery, and simple animations.
Result
The final piece clearly communicates the purpose and value of the Copernicus Health Hub, answering key questions while guiding users toward the platform.
This combination of a distinctive visual approach with clear messaging makes a complex topic easier to understand and more engaging for a broad audience. The approachable style supports both credibility and accessibility.
