A strategic promotional campaign designed to enhance awareness, drive engagement, and position esa-match as the essential networking tool for the European space industry.
Challenge
esa-match is the European Space Agency’s (ESA) matchmaking platform, designed to facilitate partnering, teaming and cooperation between entities in the space sector. Ranging from start-ups and SMEs to Large System Integrators, the platform creates new opportunities for collaboration and networking.
The challenge was to boost awareness and engagement with esa-match, as many entities remained unaware of its benefits or were not taking full advantage of the platform. At D&D, we therefore developed an engaging promotional campaign aimed to demonstrate the advantages of the platform and to increase its participation, solidifying esa-match’s reputation as the go-to directory for the European space sector.
Idea, solution
The solution involved a comprehensive, multi-faceted campaign approach. First, a visual identity for the campaign was developed, defining four key themes and the slogan “You get more when you match.” Using these elements, four futuristic and colourful posters were designed, setting the visual tone.
The production items were split into two categories: online and on-site, each tailored to effectively engage the target audience.
For the online section, a promotional landing page with easy access to information about the platform’s features and benefits was created. A user-friendly manual was also developed to guide users in making the most of esa-match. In addition, engaging digital materials like a dynamic video tutorial, social media assets, and targeted email content (e.g., footers, newsletters) were designed to increase awareness and participation.
On-site, impactful physical materials were created, including flyers, roll-ups, booth banners, and polo t-shirts, ensuring a strong visual presence at ESA events and industry gatherings. A teaser highlighting the platform’s key advantages further encouraged interest and engagement.
Result
A campaign that successfully expanded esa-match’s visibility by combining diverse materials with a cohesive visual identity and clear messaging, reaching a wide range of users.
By utilizing both digital and physical assets, the campaign maximized exposure, making it easier for users to discover and engage with the platform. This strategic approach not only captured attention but also encouraged active participation, reinforcing esa-match as a key networking tool in the space sector.
The campaign’s impact was further amplified through a strong presence at two major industry events, Space Tech Expo and ISD 2024, solidifying its reach within the space community.
